all i have to say is it doesnt matter who has ps and who doesnt. go find one with ps since that is what you want.. or consider putting ps in yourself..

Hard to turn the wheel? No. I removed power steering in my 93 Si because I like the way it feels without it more, much more feedback through the wheel of the car. It doesn't feel right with p/s in a car this small, at least IMO.

Drive one of the hatchs that came without P/S, you'll find out they're quite easy to turn.

power steering is only nice to have in parking lots and tight spaces.

while driving, not having power steering isn't an issue.

i have a 92 eg hatch and it does not come with ps or ac.but i dont care about ps.cause i prefer not to have it.and ac.i installed the whole ac system back on.just got to look for the right parts.
to be honest.if i have ps on my eg .i will remove it.cause it is being over 15 years old.

Yoy wont even notice you don't have p.s. when your driveing. Its actually a better feel without it.

you'll need PS in a vx possibly if youve had one of your arms amputated.

and the only "ps components" on a swap would be the pump, which is easily removed, and all the swaps i've seen have never had them? (do swaps come with em?)

I have power steering and I couldn't imagine trying to drive no ps when I broke my collar bone and drove all one armed (the opposite arm I usually drove with. It was a PITA to turn into a spot or to back out, and that was with PS.

Other than if you plan on breaking an arm or collarbone, I don't think no ps would be too bad.

Yeah, that's it. It's a dick when you're moving less than 3mph or so, though you won't notice a difference while driving. Some say it provides more feedback if you don't have it - I, personally, have never felt a difference in terms of feedback.

Drive it for 2 weeks and you'll forget all about "wanting" it - by the time you get the items you need to put PS in it, you'll start weighing whether it's even worth spending money on.

That's what happened with my camaro, in '67 I guess PS wasn't standard .

There was a chevy kit for sale that with some fab of my friend could have fit and it was approximately 300 bucks (had to get a PS rack). They were gone on christmas vacation so I had to order it when they got back - by the time they got back I said "expletive it, not worth 300 bux."

Simple as that, if you have it, keep it, if you don't have it, don't add it.

It's a catch 22 also.

If you look in proper care of a power steering system, you'll see that it's BAD to turn it while the car is still, the pump has to work overtime and it shortens the life of your pump. If you look in any car care guide about the PS it will tell you not to move it unless you're rolling a little unless necessary as it's bad for the pump to move it at a dead stop. So at or near a dead stop is the only time you notice that you don't have power steering.

It's funny how that works.

I don't necessarily agree with this crap, but like I said before.

I bought a Civic DX that did NOT come with power steering. It's no different from a power steering car, as long as the car is moving.

Otherwise, you'll only encounter inconvenience when turning the wheel when the car is at a stop, and if you're a 4'11", 90lbs, pre-pubescent girl.

IMO, power steering shouldn't be enough of an inconvenience to deter you from getting a good deal on a car.

Well, when you test drive one try to park and see how it goes. It doesn't matter what someone tells you. If it feels fine to you when you drive it, get it.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

It might annoy you the first time that you gotta use 2 hands instead of 1, but it's not like you'll be stuck out in the middle of traffic not being able to budge the wheel.
