VX to Ej1 swap help
Okay.. i have a 95 ej1 with a Gsr swap.. still has working ac and power steering.
I also have a Virgin 93 vx hatchback with working ac( still r12).
I bought the vx to use for my project.
My plan was to pull the gsr swap and put it into the vx to build for boost.
and i was going to buy an ls swap to put back into the ej1 for dd.
well after adding everything up for the vx build im getting tight on funds.....
SO.. my new plan is to try and swap the d15z1 vx motor into the ej1.
( i know it will be dirt slow but idk its just a dd)
So got a few questions if yall can please help.
1 what all changes in wiring would i have to do for the ej1?
2 what do i need to do to retain ac?
3 what do i need to do to retain power steering?
4 anything else that i need to know to make this easier?

Re: VX to Ej1 swap help
i wouldnt worry about keeping the power steering. these hondas dont really need power steering. it only helps if your not moving. i would find a manual rack for the ej1 and the vx should already have a manual rack.
as far as wiring im not the guy to talk to. i know the vx requires a 4 wire o2 and also has an egr valve. not sure if their would be anything else to wire in.
i believe the ac you just leave in the donor vehicle and leave the compressor with the donor vehicle as well. im not 100% sure though. i usually get rid of it.
all your brackets should swap over from one to the other so everything else should be easy.
what i would do is yank the WHOLE HARNESS from the vx and swap it over to the ej1 and then take the whole harness from the ej1 and put it i the vx. then all your wiring is correct if both vehicles run now. the its a matter of swapping the engines and brackets from one to the other.

Re: VX to Ej1 swap help
Okay i figured that i would prolly just need to go to pull-a-part and find a manual subframe for the ej1.
i would hate to half to pull the cabin harness out of the ej1... its full interior and just too damn nice to mess up ha.. So i still need to know about any wiring changes.
the 93 vx ac system is r12 and no one around here will mess with it to recharge it.. so what would i need to do to get it to work because i dont think i can use the b series compressor??
just trying to get everything planned and ready so my dd isnt down very long

this is old (I really need to get off my *** and update it) but it should help with the wiring aspect of the swap. It's not a difficult as most people think.
follow the Z1 into the DX and ignore the adding of the VTEC wiring since it was there for the GSR Swap.
