VX is not the same as a P28.
If you are doing a mini-me on a VX block i'd suggest not, its a fun tech experience but not worth the minor power gains over swapping a shortblock and head in, or even a tranny with real gearing.

oh, im doing a mini off of a dx ls block d15b7, forgot to say. really? i thought someone said that you can use the vx ecu to trigger vtec, maybe i heard wrong

there are 2 different types of vx ecu's one can be chipped one can't.

Your're right. Katman has a pic of the serials that show chippable and non, no clue where they are right now though.
One is chippable, one is not. like slammed said.

Actually they aren't. They are virtually the same ECU they just have different fuel curves and VTEC activation points. The VTEC system works the same as far as the ecu is concerned, but in the P08 head the vtec activates a 2nd cam lobe whereas with the P07 head the VTEC activates the second set of valves.

i got a auto 94 dx ecu. and a guy is saying he can chip it to a manaul and put a p28 program. pain in the butt but can be done... this is true right?
