hey hondatech i just got a 94 honda del sol s it has a jdm gsr b18c when i got it the guy who i got it from had said the vtec needed to be wired.so i took it to my friend he checked it all out and he is pretty good on working on these cars he and some other guy had said the vtec was all wired up right and im running a p72 ecu by the way and my car is throwing a cel code 41 i guess thats the 02 sensor... would that be the problem? my vtec pressure switch is also leaking constantly while car is running.. can that also be the problem? help me out guys whats the point of having a gsr guys with no vtec lol....

First things first: Vtec doesn't kick in if your CEL is on. Fix that and then see if your Vtec works.

fix the pressure switch too. it probably won't stop it from engaging but it'll get worse quicker, then it won't work again.

the point would be for tq.

ok thanks alot. i just ordered my oxygen sensor today it should be here tommorow hopefully that will take my cel off and let my vtec crack lol i let you guys knw what goes on and what exactly is a cel?

Buy a new vtec solenoid while you're at it, because all a vtec solenoid is, is an oil pressure switch, and if it's leaking, and can't build oil pressure, then that pressure (or lack there of) cannot trip the switch. Also there is a built in safety threshold in all vtec equipped ecus that tells it, if the pressure solenoid trips, and vtec crossover occurs, if the oil pressure then falls below a set PSI, to disengage vtec and throw a DTC. So save yourself the headache now and replace it.

ok i got an extra vtec solenoid ill slap that one on i got a o2 sensor for a 94 del sol cuz thats what mine is wudd that plug into my gsr del sol?i just got my honda tech account its hella sick that hella people help me out with my problems im only 17 i got alot to learn lol....

I don't know off the top of my head whether those two O2's will interchange, the main thing that would matter are what year the GSR swap is, and whether that year had the same style O2 sensors as the 94 del sol would have, easy way to find out is look at the electrical connector, if it'll plug into the connector, theres a good chance it will work.

well the head says it was casted in 94? ima try it if not ill try another one out i hope it works i want my vtec to crack lol

Like I said if the connector fits, it should in all sanity work properly with the ecu. But none the less, good luck.
