Default vtec wiring d15b

ok i have a d15b swap. its got 2vtec soleniods, from what ive found its 3-stage vtec d15b. ive got the last stage, but i would like the 1-2 stages to work also. im looking for help to wire the first 2 stages as well. any questions ask. its in a 93 del sol s. thanks in advance.

its not worth the trouble, just wire up the normal vtec and not worry about running 12valve.

why not have the motor run like it should? wouldn't it also set a DTC if your running the proper ECU? I cant answer your question man, but if i were you i would keep searching on how to do it properly..

i know how to do it properly, but finding the "proper" ecu is gonna be one task NOBODY wants to go through. secondly wiring up the EGR system is another task NOBODY wants to go throught, and buying a $450 o2 sensor isnt too worth the trouble for anybody i know, then wiring up that factory wideband, dont know many people capable of all this.

the only thing the extra stage does is disable 1 inake valve when the engine is under a certain RPM (between 2400-3000 depending on the situation), therefore, WITH ANY transmission besides the 5th gen vx/cx tranny its not gonna ever be in that RPM range while just cruising. thats why its not worth it.

I figured he had the ECU that came with the motor, hence why he wanted to know how to wire the additional stage in the first place. I cant imagine another scenario but eh.. Im aware of how it works, im also aware that this motor gets a hell of alot of gas mileage when it is done right..Ive seen posts about this swap from a COUPLE PEOPLE that went through the trouble.

yep, when used with a vx/cx transmission it will get about the same mileage as a STOCK hx. NOT worth it to me. find one thread speaking of this being done right and with good results and i will believe you.

the only reason i say its not worth it is because MOST people swapping engines do it for more power, and dont plan on putting the crappiest tranny behind it to improve MPG, which would also defeat the purpose of the swap and the "wild" vtec lobes. and anybody swapping this motor for MPG is using not gonna be impressed when its said and done.

im running a p28 ecu. so it sounds like its not really worth it.... the reason i asked is to make it slightly more drivable... gas mileage comparitively sucks to other d series...

i can tell you an EASY way to get better fuel mileage with that motor though, it just requires a little money for some street tuning, a chipped ecu, and a GOOD tuner.

chip your ecu, run the other vtec solenoid to the iabs input and set iabs to a low rpm, that way you run 12 valve mode until you hit that certain RPM, then it switches over to regular 16v until vtec "wild" rpm. although, this requires money and tuning, it will work, it still wouldnt be worth it in my opinion.
