Vtec too weak?
My Vtec bogs hardcore at about 7000 rpm it engages at 6000 isn't that a little too high. I don't know exactly what kind of engine it is because it's all in japanese but i'll try and get some pics. I do know that it is a B-series though. and I have a SI tranny. any ideas on what it might be

Believe it or not, the engine code is in english
Go to front of car, open hood, stare at the exhaust manifold/header, look to the left of it, it will say B16A, B16B, B18B, or B18C and thats if its JDM

Re: Vtec too weak? (G2 Speed)
I can't find the code I checked the side of the block and there is a sticker but it's all in Japanese I know that the guy who owned the car before me had the engine shipped over from there but shouldn't there be a code in English letters

Look to the LEFT of the header. lol
Maybe take your finger and rub it around the flat spot to clean the gunk off the stamp so you can see the engine code.

Since you had responded to me, I know. I meant stamped into the block.

Re: (Mad Vtack)
VTEC is a solenoid that acts as a switch, either on or off. Your motor boggs, VTEC cannot "bog" it can be either on or off. Its not like it partially engages, and uses all 3 cam profiles, no, it doesnt work like that.

And ya I agree, he wanted to know why his VTEC was bogging and then when he was looking at the code he realized that it wasn't even a VTEC motor.

Re: Vtec too weak? (Soccerking3000)
Ok its my buddies car. I am 99% sure its a b16a2. There is a OBD1 chipped ecu. When it gets to 7000 rpm, it bogs like no other so I am assuming its fuel/spark. Do you think his timming could be off?
