Re: VTEC SWITCH (Boost Pressure)
um why would you want to do this
but tap into your vtec solenoid wire and run a switch into the cabin.
i dont know the pinout on the ecu but if someone does you can just tap it off that.
just so you know that wont allow you to turn it on or off whenever you want to
just allows it to turn on when you pass the vtec crossover.

Yeah I kinda had the same question. I would like to know how I could turn V Tech on whenever i turn my strobes and light up nossles on? Could I rig it up to one of my switches for my hydraulics?

Re: VTEC SWITCH (WishIHadANiceCarToo)
Here's my take on why he would want to:
VAFC...tuning plus you can lower your VTEC engagement point to smooth out the horsepower curve...and a few more horses in the midrange.
But, for some owners...$300-400 is kind of pricey! And...if they could acheive the vtec lowering point with a switch for say $15 from Radio Shack....they would be very happy.
This is my opinion.

Like you can even hear the SOHC VTEC anyways
Please explain exactly what you're wanting, becaue at this point it seems as though you want a way to turn the VTEC off, but why?

I'm not trying to be no sleeper... I wanted to know if there was a way i could lower the vtec engagement point without having to buy a Vtec controler. Its not my car anyways i was just trying to help a friend.
Some of you guys try to help but others just try to make fun of people. I don't know a lot about engines and all that junk thats why I come here and ask.

Re: VTEC SWITCH (Boost Pressure)
I'd really recommend that you NOT lower your VTEC engagement point more than 500 rpm. My guess is that at low RPM's the valve opening that far disrupts the swirling of the air/fuel mixture and lowers torque. Not by much, but enough to loose a few ft/lbs or torque. My friends got a 2001 ITR with a VAFC, and he only lowered the VTEC engagement point 200 rpm, any farther and he lost power. I have dyno sheets to verify this, and as sonn as I can get ahold of him I'll post them. Aside from that, a simple switch will keep the factory ecu of the non VTEC fuel map, which will only make your engine run lean. If you wanna play with VTEC, buy a good controller.

Not saying that it doesn't come on in first, but in an ITR...
RMP @ 5700 85% throttle... I believe you are going faster than 20mph...
