Vtec solenoid
I was wondering are all vtec solenoid interchangeable? Like im trying to put a vtec solenoid that came out of a d16z6 to a d16y8? LMK

i just sold a vtec solenoid that came out of a d16z6 to some dude. He said it didnt fit his y8 motor. I was like wtf!! It came out from a working motor and it should work fine and now he saying that it doesnt fit.

Fantastic..but they're both D series motors...D16Z6 to D16Y8.
I just thought the plugs were different and it'd need to be hardwired. Not hard...just not exactly plug 'n play.

Well I am looking at one off of a D16Z6 and one off of a D16Y8 and they look NOTHING alike. Mainly the gasket for example with the little screen in it on the Z6 has four ovals in it and the gasket off of the Y8 only has three and the shape is much different. Now just for the hell of it, I looked at one from an EM1 and it looks much closer to the Z6. Go figure.
The solenoid itself I believe to be interchangeable, but not the entire spool valve.
