Vtec Solenoid?!?!?!?
Aight, I just swapped my eg civic with a jdm b16a OBD1. it runs good but when I get to vtec rpms the check engine light comes on and it throws a code 3(map sensor), code 21(vtec solenoid) and a code 22(vtec oil pressure). Then I turn it off and start it back up and the check engine light goes off. I put a GSR vtec solenoid on it to see if it was a defective solenoid, and it does the same thing. But if I unplug either the solenoid or the oil pressure and start it then the check engine light comes on without reving it, so I figure it's got a connection... I don't know what to do. I also cleaned the screan with brake cleaner to make sure it wasn't that.

you check the easiest thing? The oil level? Vtec won't kick in with low oil and low oil pressure, maybe you have a bad oil pump too check those out
