Vtec Problems
Ok.. just finished the build on my B16A2 motor for my Del Sol.... We bumped the compression to 12:1 and wit stage 2 crowler cams and stage 2 valve springs with titianiam retainers... had the head polished (cast lines taken out)... specs on the cams are:
Stage 2- 3/4 Race
Road/Rally Race and Street/Strip.
Requires #84161 kit with rev limiter mod.
VTEC controller also recommended.
RPM Range: 1000 to 9500+.
20+ hp over build B18C
Int- 311 mid Exh-308 mid
the motor runs really strong, but at 5500 rpm when vetec kicks it engages but spudders really bad.. almost as if it is missin on 2 cylinders... a buddy asked me if I needed to shim the tappets or did I prime the Vtec plungers? I am wondering do I need to shim the tappets and I installed the plungers dry,,, would that be my cause???
