Vtec problem

having a vtec problem. im throwing code 22 sometimes. like sometimes i will have vtec and it will work fine, then two pulls later cel light kicks on and no more vtec. i think that the sol is going bad. i know that i have four qts of oil so im pretty sure thats its not the oil level or what not. anyone have any insight for me? thanks.

uh he didnt ask what code 22 was, he is asking why his vtec is intermittent.

i would say oil pressure (check the dipstick, dont rely on what you put in) or an electrical connection problem.

yes i know what code 22 is. i was asking why it was intermidant. yes i have checked the oil by the dipstick. it has been doing this for three months. i have been at the beach and didn't feel like messing with it but now im home so its top priority. anyone else have any clues. cna the sol. go bad like over time. also i was told that i have a sohc vtec sol and not a dohc sol. does that make a diff.

does not make a difference.

like i said, start with the basics before you go replacing things. check all your connections.

Re: Vtec problem (Kamin)

the connections are pretty solid im going to double check them tomorrow but it worked fine for a long time then it started to go in and out. thats why i think its the sol. like the cel light kicks on, i turn the car off then on while still moving it will be gone. i make a pull, hit vtec, then it kicks back on. im so confussed. cuase if it was faluty wiring, it woujdlnt' work at all right?

Is everything still factory? If so, have you done factory recommended service on your vehicle? This could have an adverse effect on your car as well as the performance aspect. Have you checked the regular stuff (EGR, fuel filter, cleaned your injectors)?
