Default Vtec problem

I have a b16a in my 93 civic coupe. Yesterday i noticed that v-tec will cut in and out during hard acceleration but only in second gear. Today it will not kick in while in first gear and in second gear it will kick in and out rapidly at about 6500 rpm and up. In third gear it works fine (stays engauged) and same with 4th and 5th. It doesnt throw any codes and I checked the v-tec wires and they are not loose. If you have any ideas please let me know.

what ecu are you running and are you running any vtec controller ? try swapping your ecu with another replacement and see if it resolves the problem.

How EXACLTY did you attach the solenoid signal wire to the ECU terminal? Pin, crimp, or solder? Sounds like you have an intermittent signal problem to me.

haha, sorry guys! i did read the post, i guess i just missed that...

To me this seems ECU related cause it seems to be based on gear??? i dunno i would check all connections and def. try a friends ECU to see if that solves it!

the v-tec is wired with the correct pins for the ecu. Also v-tec will work fine in all gears untill the engine fully warms up.
