Default vtec oil pressure switch bypass........ is it really that simple?

based on that diagram, i just cut the a4 and d6 wires on the connector and solder them together and this will give me my missing vtec. is it really that simple?

oh yeah, is there anything special about d3 knock sensor?

yea..some jdm swaps dont come with pressure switches from the factory...so when u use a usdm ecu...it will look for it and notice it aint there and throw you a code....so u have to by pass it to get it to work
....just trying to clear things up!

This diagram is only for OBD1 ECUs, will this also work for OBD2 by crossing the pressure switch wire with the solenoid wire?

I believe you can also map an OBD1 ECU (socketed with an EPROM) to disable the VTEC oil pres. switch as well. But this solution is much cheaper.

to bypass, just look for those 2 wires and get a tap to connect them both

its as simple as it sounds

Yup.
Or, for the super lazy, you can buy a bypass switch.

Or consider buying the switch itself, tapping it in, and running the wire.

i have a question as well. I have a b18c that i put in my 94 eg coupe. used the jdm gsr harness and just swapped it from rhd to lhd. Vtec doesn't work with my obd1p72, so i plug in my stock 28, vtec works. so i drill and tap and install the vtps from my d16z6, no vtec. vtec works with my stock p28, my friends chipped 28, and a ecu from my bros friend in cali. so i got a bad ecu i'm thinkin, so i bought another p72 from a HT member, plug it in..... no vtec. so i've tried doing this vtps bypass on the engine harness, so i'm gonna go out and do it at the ecu connectors right now, but if anyone has any ideas for me, i'll make out with you. thanks
