Re: vtec or no vtec (civictildeath)
i know of some race only guys that use the crower roller set-up that only run on the vtec lobe and i know of a tuner in delaware that cuts the o-ring in the oil passage that keeps the oil flowing all the time to the rocker shafts, but for a street application, not necessarily a hp number, you need the low end that the primary lobes give you to have some sort of drive-ability.

Well they do make VTEC killer cams which eliminate VTEC but you have to keep the motor spinning pretty fast because your low end power would be non-existing!! Basically a road racing cam ...

can you explain this a bit more? Im interested because Im wondering why vtec wouldn't be such a good idea with turbo.

the turbo will help provide the low end grunt to get the car rolling. on an all motpr car, if you have ridiculous cams, you will have no low end at all thats where the vtec helps out. it will let you have low end grunt with top end power too.

easiest way to put it, for the street non vtec is gonna be better bc of the low rpm lobs and high rpm vtec lobs so that you have streetability and power, if your going mostly track car or a ***** out street car, maybe the vtec head with the vtec cams locked out or simply just go non vtec with some big *** lobes

You're wrong. Period, amen, no discussion, you're just flat out WRONG. Another newbie spewing internet bullshit, letting it spread like a fat kid with an infection jumping into a hot tub.
The vtec head flows better, has the potential to flow much better after porting (Ported LS vs. Ported VTEC, ported VTEC will flow significantly better) and the cams work great with turbo. Nothing to discuss.
The reason people run cams such as TODA's VTEC Killers is for hardcore road racing cars. They eliminate the primary lobes and other components and only run a large primary lobe to save valvetrain weight, which is crucial in a high RPM motor that is going to run at high RPM's for a long time, IE a road course.
