hey honda peepz i got a question i have b18c and i was wondering if i could put TODA vtec killer cams or would i have to put in a complete valvetrain. becuase those cams sound sick az ***!

I have never used them, but my shop says that they will wear your stock valvetrain out at an exceptional rate. So I would think that you would need a better valvetrain to utilize such an aggressive cam profile.

they're only used for racing so that precious oil can be kept for the vital components of the engine rather than in the solenoid.

weren't they introduced so people could run in classes that restricted use of VTEC and the crap like VVT or whatever the other japanese cars run. anyways yeah, read somewhere they are so you can run VTEC motors and heads without actually running VTEC and still make decent power.

just make sure you have 12:1 compression or more and can rev to 10 if you want to take full advantage of the cams

The almost complete lack of power brakes because of low vacuum, rough idle, and death of valvetrains due to the amount of lift they are subjected to, then they are just for you.


No point in tearing up a perfectly good head that can function like a stock car on the low cam and run like hell on the big one. All the points made so far are valid and there is no reason to do it on a street car.

It's because they are made for cars that do not leave the powerband. Bottom end suffers because there is no need for bottom-end in the environment where these cams are properly used.

They came out of a race car at the track because we couldn't keep the RPM's high enough and we had serious problems putting power down coming out of turns. Toda C's are what we have now.

just wire your vtec solonoid up to the live on your battery, wont last long but you will have a laugh!!
