Default vtec issues

my vtec has been acting kinda funny sense i have bought the car, once in a while it will kick in and work great , most of the time i have no vtec. i have heard about people cleaning there screens and stuff but ive also heard others say its a waste of time just but a new solenoid, what should i do ?

any cel? Also, vtec wont engage if your oil pressure is low. You should clean the solenoid and also check to make sure that your getting 12v of power to it.

no cel being thrown , where exactly do i check to make sure im getting the full 12v ?

get one of those volt reader tools, i forget the tech name. I got mine for like 5 bucks. Also, check your oil level and oil pressure. Check the wires running from it to see if they are in good condition.

Clean your v-tec solenoid
check your oil pressure

check your vtec fluid. you maybe out of it

VTEC fluid lol... port and polish the VTEC solenoid so that VTEC will pop louder

You mean engine oil, vtec runs with your engine oil

yes check your oil level.

when engine is cold vtec will NOT work

port and polish?? is this a joke or what?? oh now I get it.....so more coolant can go through and then vtec will be louder lol
