vtec info for del sol
I want to know where I can find a Vtec motor for my 94' Del Sol. I'm looking for a DOHC 1.6 or 2.0L. Also will the tranny from my 1.5L SOHC bolt up to the Vtec, and will the exuast system bolt up? Sorry for the dumb questions, just getting into the import world.
P.S. How hard will the change over be?

lots of places on the net sell motors and I,m sure some of the people in the classified on HT will be happy to sell you one. Your tranny and exhaust manifold will not work. Use the search feature on HT. You can find lots of info by searching.

You have ALOT to learn. I suggest you do MUCH MORE research before you go ahead make your decision. This site has a great search feature, tons of info in the archives. To answer a few of your basic questions. The del sol came with a dohc vtec motor(b16a3) in '94-'97. So yes, you can drop in a b16, or any bseries engines for that matter. None of them are too difficult to do. The difficulty of the swap is relative to how much experience you have with cars. Which one you finally pick should be the result of careful research as to what you want to do with the car(n/a, boost?) Your tranny from the sohc is not compatible, nor would you want it to be. Much more info out there, get ready to read

Re: vtec info for dol sol (sickSOLvtec)
If I leave the 1.5 in the car, what is the best way to get it moving (fast). It already have Nitrous, cold air intake, Vtec fuel intake, bigger cam, and full exuast system and it still isn't all that fast. HELP!!!

Turbo. The only way if you're sticking with the 1.5. Or you could gut it. Adding in an EX/Si transmisison would help, too.
