i thought u had to use some soart of resistor in the line to prevent pulling to much power from the ecu and causeing vtec not to engauge??
i like idea 1 but with the LED id rather not run all those wires through my firewall for one little light. way to much work. IMO

You're probably thinking of the resistor inline with the ground wire to prevent the LED from going out. And I'm splicing off the solenoid and running through the firewall. Very easy to do. I just used the big *** grommet on the driver's side. There's also one on the passenger's side. Here are the instructions I used: http://www.hazone.com/hvlight.htm

Solenoid...pin a4. Think about it the pressure switch always has current going through it because its always monitoring the oil pressure. The solenoid wire gets a current only when VTEC is activated. And no, I don't have any resistors.
