Default VTEC HELP.....

Okay here is my problem. I just swapped in a jdm R into my EK. The R had no headers. I had USDM 00' B16 exhaust manifold laying around. I put it on and everytime it changes over, I feel a big lag. I was thinking it might be the headers.

My question is, am I able to use the B16 headers on my R motor? Is my motor choking cause i'm using a smaller exhaust manifold?

Anything helps. TIA...

when u mean jdm R is jdm integra type r ?
what kind of cat back muffler are u running ? and is b16a exhaust manifold oem or aftermarket? your motor is choking can be caused by several reasons..inspect all the vacume pipes. have u replaced the spark plugs and check their firing order..are u throwing any CEL?also what kind of ecu are u using ?

So it's bogging out when you hit VTEC? Maybe the ECU program is running it too lean or rich. The B16A HEADER shouldn't really restrict flow to the point that it bogs out the motor.

Make sure your timing is correct (distributor). What kind of fuel are you using?

Check your fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, wires, etc.

Are you throwing any CELs?

Yes, it was chipped by a pro. Umm, I just swapped out a B16A2 and ran the same setup except for the ecu. I never had this problem with the B16.

That's cuz the B16A is superfast.
