we need more info than that!
how much are you willing to spend?
do you want a single cam vtec?
if you do, then get a D16Y8 or D16Z6. I recommend the Y8 if you want to stay OBDI
you can make a mini-me but i wouldnt recommend it

if you want a DOHC motor with Vtec, you can get
B16, B18C, LS/V, B20/V or poormans type R

asking such vauge questions will not help you

no. only the 92-95 civics with the d16z6 has "VTEC" stamped on the valve cover.
the rest just say "HONDA"

you are correct. i missed the "EX"

OP, your car already comes with a d16y8 STOCK from the factory.
and the D16Y8 is a single cam Vtec

A B16 swap will put you in the low-15's/high 14's and cost you $1500ish

A B18C swap will put you solidly in the 14's and cost you $2500ish

An H22 swap will put you in the low 14's and cost you $2500ish but be much more problematic to get working perfectly.

Turbocharging your current setup will cost $1000 and be faster than all of the above.

Regardless, you'll still be in a pile-o-**** Civic that used to be reliable and used to get good gas mileage.

Keep it stock, throw some suspension on it, learn to drive and graduate to a real car.

NOPE

Haha, yeah man, you already have VTEC.

If you're wanting to swap to a DOHC B series, it all depends on how much money you want to spend.

this

if not, the h22 is great, I have swapped them for $2000 total and they usually turn out to be high 13 sec cars with full interior and passengers

Don't think your going to find a DOHC VTEC for around 500-600 bucks. Maybe an LS swap...but no vtec...

You're getting no power because it's a civic.

If you can find a DOHV VTEC swap for $600, it's either stolen or blown. Probably both.

Do some research for yourself.

I'm tired of people joining honda tech just to ask these same questions when they can find out for themselves in just a few minutes.

OP. Bottom line, If you are looking for an upgrade "w/ VTEC" its not gonna happen with your budget.

H22=LOVE, thats all I can say, ive had a LS in my civic, then a b16a and that was better then the LS. I am rockin the H22 now and when that doesnt satisfy me then its a K or even a J

actually not all 92-95 civic with d16z6 have vtec stamped on valve cover but they still are vtec's

im actually for a vtec valve cover for d16z6 hit me up if you have a spare condition doesnt matter as long as its not crack or anything structural
