Vtec Controller on a d16y8
I have seen magazines use vtec controllers on B16s and B18 and get good results. Usually getting rid of the dip right before vtec kicks in, but what about on a d16 vtec? Does anyone use a vtec controller on their SOHC vtec or have dyno proof that it helps? Looking for something a little more solid then, "i felt a big difference after installing my vtec controller", placebo is a wonderful thing.

I got pretty good results with mine.
Here is a link to my post after I got it dyno tuned. You can see the increase in both torque and HP where the VTEC crossover was moved from the stock 5800 RPM down to about 5300 RPM. The optimal crossover point will be VERY difficult to locate on the street so I definately recommend the dyno time. Best money I've spent on my car.

Well...I installed the cam, cam gear, FPR, and VAFC then went to Secret Services with that setup completely untuned. It ran well enough to drive but the tuning that John did made a world of difference. It took him about 2.5 hrs because he was alone in the shop and kept being interruted. Charged me $150. Not a bad deal I don't think. Rates for tuning will vary of course.
