I have a D16y8, would it be worth the money to buy an apexi vtec controller? If tuned well, what kind of gains could I see, 1/4 wise?

Sorry to dissapoint you, but you will not see very many gains and barely drop 1/4 time on a stock motor

It isn't stock, I have I/H/E, high-flow cat, but it really wouldn't be worth it? I'm all about the D-series.

Suggest you don't expect much but, it can be useful along with future mods like a cam or FI.

another, less-expensive option is the Pivot VCT-R. it doesn't have the cool digital read-out, but it's got an A/F **** and a V-Tec **** that light up blue and change to red when the V-Tec engages...check out http://www.spw-usa.com, and last i checked, i can beat their price through my shop...check it out and let me know if you want it...
