VTEC change over (really loud)
i have a b20 vtec (b16 head) ive had it for 3 years im just wondering how i can find out what type of cams i have. im thinking they might be ctr or itr but i dont know, all i know is it pulls so much harder when vtec kicks in then any of my other friends with stock setups and its very loud?
this might not sound like i know what im talking about, but id just like too know if theres any kinda marking on them??
EDIT: my ls vtec w/ a gsr head didnt even sound or pull half as much as this does neither does my brothers b16

Searching is usually the quickest way to find an answer to a question like that.
Also, I do not believe that it is the cams that determine the audibility of your VTEC engagement. Unless I am mistaken, it has to do with timing and intake manifold design.
My B16 sounds like a second engine coming on when VTEC engages. REAL friggin' loud.
And that bump in torque you feel when VTEC engages is usually a sign of a mis-placed VTEC engagement point. When tuned properly, there should be a smooth transition torque-wise from the primary lobe to the VTEC lobe.
Cheers,
- Derek

Werd. I've gotten people who've commented that they could hear me going up and down the highway from 1/4 mile away. Putting a CAI or shortram on a B16a makes vtec engagement unbelievably loud.
