vtec anyone?
Hi guys,
I have a b16a in a 92si.
I find that I am not getting vtec although the car is warmed up. I may have to drive for about 20 mins after full warm up then it works. Then if I park up the car for a little while and then drive it again no vtec. Is this normal? I was wondering about the oil pressure( i don't have a guage in the car) Is there a way to check the pressure without one?

VTEC needs a few things to work. You need to be moving faster than 20mph, you need good oil pressure and the car also needs to be at normal operating temp.

iono about teh whole normal operating temp thing...
If I start my car up right now, (it's like 40-50ºF), drive out onto the road, and hammer on it, my vtec will kick in....and it won't be at normal operating temp...at least I don't think it will be...
