ok let me rephrase this... looking to do a motor swap in my 98 civic dx and was wondering if one motor is louder than the other such as when vtec kicks in... I'm not for all loud exhaust especially when it sounds like crap...

Tbh, you will still need to do the research yourself. We can't spoon feed your engine swap choice to you.

For '92-'00 Civics you'll probably be looking at something out of these lists:

Some questions you might want to ask yourself:

- How much am I willing to spend? How much will axles, an ECU, wiring harness, mounts, etc. cost for this swap? How much is labor going to be if I need to pay for it to be installed?

- How readily available is my engine choice? Am I okay with buying used local or do I prefer to spend more for a warranty of some sort through a company?

- How easy is this swap? Will I need to do chassis modification? How bad is the wiring?

- How much power will this engine put out? How easy is it to get more power out of this engine, if that's important to me?
