I have an extra VSS laying around, however, It is from an automatic D-series. I have someone asking about it, however, both of us are not sure if it will work on his Manual B-series. Anyone know?

Pretty sure it would work. Why not simply pull his out and compare the two?

I know for a fact that I've swapped out a B series for a D series 5-speed VSS and it worked fine.

Some of the 99-00 Civic Si coupes used a wierd type that is not the same though - is he using the S4C tranny from one of those?

well, I can't just simply compare for 2 reasons.

One, he's in another state. Guy over on hondaswap wants it
2, He is doing a conversion from cable to electronic VSS.

I know for a fact the plugs are the same because I already sent it to him, later to find out that he needed the whole VSS.

He is using a GSR tranny.

I would just call honda and find out if the auto and manual vss sensors are the same. becuase what was stated before d series manual sensors work on b series I know for a fact, Ive never tried a auto though either.

the d vss 5 speed will work. Im not to sure about the automatic though. I thought the little gear on the end was a little to big to fit all the way in there right. I have a gsr tranny and the d 5 speed dropped right in. the automatic wouldnt fit if i remember correctly.
