VSS sensor went out again...
Hey guys....I've searched before and I have already posted a year or so ago about a problem where my speedometer would stop working and sometimes it would kick in.
so last spring I went out...found a good VSS sensor and put that into my transmission and it worked fine. Right before winter came the speedometer went out again.
is this just my dam luck? does my civic hate winter?
My speedometer will kick in sometimes and I do get the check engine light but this is just pure gay.
Could this be something else that I have overlooked?
or should I just get another vss sensor?
*edit*
I've been in electronics class all days so I meant VSS(vehicle speed sensor) NOT VCC

Re: VSS sensor went out again... (Mr.RHTuner)
did you check the wiring connection to see if it still good? also check the plug itself to see if it making contact, and clean.

is there a reason specifically why I should replace my speedometer? like what would go wrong with it as I don't think it's the speedometer

Sounds like a speedo head to me. The actual unit that moves the needle. At the dealership I work at we use the PGM tester to see if the ECU is getting a signal from the speed sensor if it is then your cluster speedo is bad or possibly sticky as if you have a poor white face gauge install. But if the ECU is not receiving the speed then your speed sensor or speedo gear is bad.
Hope this helps.
