vss problems not answered in search
i've asked my questions but it seems like no one is giving me any answers.
i drive a 1993 ex coupe. where is this alternator/vss fuse. the searches answer this question for the ek's, but the answers do not correspond to the eg fuse box.
the underdash fusebox diagram shows me a bunch of lighting, and interior power option fuses, but nothing close to an alternator or vss. if someone can clear up this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1663455

i've tested with other clusters and no luck. i've tested my vss in another car and it works, so there is no mechanical problems, it is electrical.
questions:
1. where is this fuse everyone talks about, i've been looking and searching for 3

2. where can i find an ecu test harness to follow the troubleshoot in my helms manual?
3. what other solutions do i have? at the end of the flow chart on the helms, it basically tells me to replace my ecu

Sorry dude i dont understand
i already know where the vss, and the cel test harness is. I know it's throwing me code 17. the test harness i'm talking abut is the one that connects between the ecu and the ecu harness

yea i've checked that one but nothing in that diagram correlates to anything you guys have been mentioning.

sorry went on vacation for a little, i checked the 80A fuse and it was fine.
where can i get a replacement socket? and how do i change it?

You're an idiot! It is a sensor that uses and ELECTRICAL signal, therefore there is a fuse.

Yeah but then it's relayed through something else - guarantee you there's no "VSS fuse" - maybe a fuse that has a few things hooked up to it including the VSS...

basic automotive 12v knowledge: ALL THINGS POWERED HAVE A FUSE/FUSIBLE LINK/RELAY.
anything period. even the o2 sensor, its fed by the ECU which is FUSED, so everything tied into that circuit is FUSED.

No it's not a VSS fuse but it does deliver power to the VSS. Anything in a car that draws power... is fused in some way or another. It prevents fires, which to a manufacturer is a good thing.

hey thanks relic, i've been seriously at this for a few weeks now and have had no luck
all my lights are good and running. im looking at the underdash fusebox that is exactly pictured above, and i dont see a map sensor, o2 sensor, eld, cruise, etc. fuse. i only see a bunch of light fuses. I have also checked most of those fuses and they're all good.
i'll try cleaning the socket in the morning, but how would i go about doing that? qtip and alcohol? and how would i go about checking/fixing if it was a wiring problem?

there isn't one labled that, it's labled ACG (s).
see Striker_1818's post for where that is.
if the fuse is good and the VSS is known to be good, the only thing left in the circuit is the wiring.
Unless your speedo is bad...
Have you checked for VSS signal at the cluster?
all this takes is a volt meter and a jack

Yes, the ECU is fused....not the sensor it self...maybe my point was taken too direct. There is no "VSS Sensor" - you just said the O2 was fed by the ECU which is fused. So no, the sensor doesn't have it's own fuse, at least not in my book.

Alright, well that fuse that covers ALL of those....NOT JUST the VSS could possibly be the problem...but u said it covers the main relay too..so one has to ask, does the car start? ok so i have had the same problem in the past.
replaced the cluster= nothing
replaced the VSS twice= nothing
went to the junk yard found a new connector (from the harness to the VSS) replaced it and everything was great.
come to find out the original connector was the problem.
try this and see if it works it only cost me $5. and about 15 min.

I'm having the same problem...
replaced VSS- nothing
cleaned cap + plug with dielectric grese **** - nothing
got a new cap- nothing
any way to run those 3 wires off the plug straight tot he ecu,t his car is an electrical mess...?
