vss problems???????
I have recently changed my clutch, since then the speedometer has not worked.I got a code p0500 (speed sensor) so I replaced it. The speedometer still does not work and still throws the engine light.I have checked connectors and wire harness. Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: vss problems??????? (BBY98EX)
Check grounds, fuses? Also CEL's sometimes stay remembered by the ecu until the battery has been disconnected a few seconds. Pull the ground off the battery to reset the ecu and that might clear up the CEL. Hope this helps

if you replaced the vss and you are still getting no reading on your guage cluster, you may have an electrical problem between the vss and your guage cluster. check to make sure that the wires on the harness going to the vss are not damaged or bared, as well as the connector is no oil fill or shorting itself it any way.
