Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
I dont know about anyone else, but i'm primarily an ek (or ej) person, and have never owned an eg/ del sol. Just wondering why these 3 completely different platforms are combined in one section? So what would everyone think about this? *flame suit on*

The should be a poll.
1, leave it the hell alone.
2, Seperate them.
3, what's the point?
I think it's fine the way it is, I really don't see the point to seperate them.

Re: Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
Im with hyper. Even though I have owned both (currently EG) I hate having to weed through all the EK threads to find a EG related thread.
Especially chassis ambiguous posts like, Will X seats fit into my hatch/coupe/sedan. Well hell, I gotta check to see what chassis they are talking about to see if I can aid with a response.

i sometimes think it would be a good idea, and other times its not a big deal.... but there are times when it would be awesome because the two platform are very much similar, but have lots of differences... example: anything having to do with body parts, interior parts, parts of the rear suspension, odb... the list could go on

My universe would cease to exist if you guys wanted to separate these Honda fraternal twins. You guys are surely aware that the EG and EK are much more alike than they are different, right?

Re: Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
Ron, I agree with you, I just wish there was a way to differentiate the 2 within the forum. like when posting have to choose between the 2 options (EG/EK) so a notifier would show next to the thread in the forum view.
My gripe is looking at all the threads and not being able to tell what chassis the post is referring to. I know it's more user error (ID10T) but you will never be able to remove that factor.

the good thing about them being together is there will be alot more people who can help! especially if its an ek owner who used to be an eg owner, or vice versa

I'll also remind you all that the 92-00 Civic/Del Sol forum is hands down the most active of the tech forums. Do you want to dismantle this success?

Re: Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
Well, it just seems that eg's and teggys have more in common when it comes to part interchangeability. Also, i noticed that civics are divided by generation and I see 2 generations mixed along with the sol with this tech forum. I also do not like having to weed out the ek threads, however I understand about the previous eg owners as well. Idk, it just crossed my mind and figured I would ask.

I still go back to the ef forum occasionally so that doesnt mean the ef an eg forum should be merged. I like the idea of them being seperated....so what if they have the most activity...its still activity on H-T so whats the difference?

Re: Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
I for one tend to side with Ron on this. I like many other members currently own both body styles, in my case a EH3(EG) and a EJ6(EK) and like being able to find almost everything I am looking for in one forum, kind of like a one stop shop.
I understand the argument, but there is more information that crosses over these two generations, than that which doesn't.
But this is my opinion.

Re: Vote to separate EG and EK technical forums?
EG and EK information compliments one another. The combined EG and EK forum is beneficial to both generations, so the combination is greater than the individual parts. A weaker but similar argument could be made for adding EF to the EG/EK forum, with the OBD0 system creating more distance between EF and EG/EK.

I think we should have a form when making a post that has check boxes for vehicle year, model, trans, engine, etc. then it shows up in the post or something

Heck, for this reason, I would even go as far as merging the Teg forum with EG/EK.

I think at least year, body style and transmission. Sometime we get noobies that doesn't know what they have under hood.

Understood about the whole EG + EK = kissing cousins (Lmao) but Integras have interchangeable parts too.
@Ron - EG female + EK male = offSUSPENSION or offSPRINGS haha
