Default Vitara piston install question. Need opinions...

I have vitara pistons and tuner toy rods. When I push in the wrip pins they go in as smooth as butter. Shouldn't there be some resistance. Wouldn't they slide left or right when installed. I'm afraid the pins might scratch my cylinder walls after the install. Anyone have any clue.

vitara pistons are full floating so they should do that but there are to snap rings that hold the wrist pins in you should have those!

My pins were the opposite. Had to leave them in the freezer overnight to fit them. (hope that doesn't mean a problem down the road) The only difference in my setup is that I used eagle h-beams.

Why do people keep insisting that vitaras knock? Yes, there is a little piston slap, but it disappears after the engine is warm and oil is circulating. I was skeptical of them until I actually saw (and rode in) a car with them installed. He has been running them since may of last year and is yet to have a problem. (387hp) I chose vitaras as a cost effective alternative to brand-name forged pistons. They are loud at first, but any worries disappear when you lean on the go pedal.

still a little bit of piston slap is bad, it will get worse over time, just like a motor that knocks now a little and will eventually get worse

Thanks for the replies but I found the locks that keep the pin from sliding like that. Yeah these are really for budget builders but if tuned right, these babies can make alot of power. Brand new for $50, who woudn't buy them.
