ViS Carbon Hood Fitment issue 95 coupe...
Okay I've searched and found out that people use hood pins to cure the problem I'm having. But I don't want to use hood pins for security reasons and because I don't like the way they look. There's got to be a way to fix this. Plenty of people have/had the same problem, so it's not just a defect...maybe there's a flaw in ViS' design. I even played with the rubber stops on the rad support, that just made it worse.
Notice the gap over the left headlight area and the left fender (although somewhat hard to see). The gap isn't horrible in those pictures, but much worse in person...and if you have one of these hoods, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway, I WANT THAT GAP TO BE GONE! The right side is a little lower than it should be too.
My thoughts are that the radiator is too tall or that ViS didn't make a depression deep enough for the radiator.
Help me out please, this is so annoying.

mine does the same thing except worse. vis sucks, sell and get seibon.
you could also try to mess with your hood latch, move it down some and see if that helps

Try lowering the rubber hood stoppers. Turn them clockwise. Hood pins do not effect security because you still have your hood latch to bypass. Also you are better off with hood pins if you don't want the hood to fly up on you on the freeway. Another alternative to hood pins is hood locks, which uses a key to open them.

I had a similar problem when I got mine. did a combination of what the first 2 people said and it fit as good if not better than my oem hood.

instead of hood locks get some sparco hood pins and put some masterlocks on both of em look somewhat ok, i did it hwne someone broke into under my hood, they removed the oem hood latch, took the pins out and stole a my intake and tried to nab the header

Re: (bluej2_tookit)
Had the same problem with my first hood, until one day the highway air caught that gap and my hood flew up. Trashed it and got a Seibon (which fit 100% perfect right out of the box without any adjustment) + hoodpins. Have never looked back.
For the OP: There's not much you can do except use hoodpins to hold it down, or buy a different hood. ViS

You dont want to use hood pins for security reasons?
Explain...
You are not safe, driving around without pins.
Oh, and those hood locks, shown above, are NOT hood pins. They do not serve the same function - Mr. Gasket markets the same exact thing but clearly prints "not to be used as hood pins" on the package.
If NRG is marketing them as safetly equipment, I would seriously like to know why... They do not stand up to abuse. Period...

i have a password jdm cf hood on mine, and the fitment is terrible. but i also notice that when i get on the ground and look across my fender that the motor sticks up a good deal over the tops of the fenders. so even though the hood is domed the middle, i'm not sure it clears. and it also could be the radiator being too tall like clayfight3r said.
btw... i have tried everything, from adjusting the rubber stops to moving the hood latch, still doesnt fit.

Re: (ItR_98)
my vis hood sucked ***, what made it worse is the authorized VIS seller is ignoring me about me receiving a hood that has a horrible undersiding. VIS customer service ignores me too. I WILL NEVER GO VIS AGAIN!!!. my hood still sits around. VIS SUCK go seibon, I should've.

Re: (EK k kay)
well that's dissapointing. i have always known vis to be of such great quality in the past. i had 2 of their hoods on my gsr (the first one was stolen) and they both fit just as well as the oem hood. maybe they just have some half *** people working for them now.

Re: (ItR_98)
that's what i'm guessing, I bought a VIS hood for the name and that fact that because they have a name, it's suppose to mean I'm getting top notch quality. In stead I ended up with even worse then knock-off. The guy that was helping me over the phone sounded like a total fob and had to have everything told and explained over and over, I still have yet to get a straight answer from then and it's been months.

sell it and pick up a seibon and some hood pins. .
you may not think they look good but they do serve a purpose
and as for security reasons, its better to have them not worse. .

exactly, and if you don't like the looks of typical hoodpins, a company makes a different style called like aeropins or something like that....they are nearly flush mounted with the hood and have a locking version as well.
EDIT:
found a link of them for you

Re: ViS Carbon Hood Fitment issue 95 coupe... (emooheo)
I once had a coupe with a vis carbon hood and it fit perfect i think the problem is there might be some hoods that somehow get tweaked in the making which sucks
