VIS Carbin Fiber hood fitment on b series swap hatch....?
just installed my vis cf hood on my hatch. it has a b series swap and everything seems ok except the hood hits the valve cover causing it to lift on one side. do any of you have this problem? its not a problem, it's just that it throws off the alignment a little with the fenders. its a grade a or aa vis hood with rolled sides. thanks, any info or suggestions are appreciated. thanks again.

Which B series motor? I've heard that the b18c1 hit the bottom of the hood. I saw somewhere about them lowering the engine into the chasis. causing the header to be to low. Im also trying to find info on this since i have a VIS hood.

get some extended bolts and a bunch of washers. the bolts go throw the latch through a bunch of washers and then threaded into the hood. use as many washers as it may take to keep the hood from hitting. this will lift the rear part of the hood up but it looks dope IMO!!

i dont mind the fitment if one side is off, its fine with me. i was just thinking it should fit and if anyone else had a problem with them. i guess im not the only one. maybe someone should write to them... heh. i wonder why stock hood clears b series swap tho?

Duh, cut the bracing under the hood where it hits the motor.
w3rd.
or just cut the valve cover and save the hood.

What hood stlye are you guys using? I was about to order an OEM style VIS c/f hood but not sure if I want to now. I will be installing a GSR motor within a couple weeks.
My friend has a GSR motor in his EG hatch. Has the invader style c/f hood and had to get all the support brackets sanded away because it was rubbing the valve cover
Will the OEM hood clear the GSR motor without any problems?

My friend has the VIS hood that has the vent in the middle of the hood it fits fine intil we but a B18c in it. Now the hood sets up a little so he just put spacer in it, it does not look to good, just my opinion.

OEM style VIS hood willl rub the paint off the corner of your valve cover. I had one and it happened to me. The front of my car is tweaked so I thought it was due to that. When I buy another one I'm cutting some the skeleton away from the point that hits the valvecover.

I'm going to find a pic of the underside so I can see what there is to work with and cut.

Very little needs to be shaved, cut (Whatever you want to call it). My hood had a little indentation were it was hitting the valve cover.
Its not hard. Esp if you have a dremel.

On a side note, does you VIS hood have a rivited VIS plate near the latch??
