Vinyl Paint
I just recently got some black vinyl paint online. I was planning on painting my doors in my 95 civic. I was wondering if i could sand down the doors and just paint right over it and it will come out good? Or is there another way to do this? I heard that you can buy primer, but it was said to be good for hard plastics.

I'm not completely sure, but for hard plastic, you have to sand it down a bit and primer then. Then paint the sucker. A primer is best, so the paint cant stick to it better

Re: Vinyl Paint (Mikerocosms)
Im talking about vinyl dye, it goes through the vinyl and actually dies the vinyl. Can you use it without primer?

Don't even bother with that stuff. Pick of a can of that Krylon Fusion plastic paint. It's some bad *** stuff. We just got done repainting my brother's interior panels (ricer before him decided to paint them all white, grey and red) and after 3 or 4 days it was impossible to get the stuff to flake. We tried to and it wouldn't. Good stuff. And at only about $3 a can you can't go wrong with it.

hmm, i would try to vynle die it. But if your going black..then i would, other colors i wouldn't. I might do it one day myself .. but for the plastic part of the cars..sand a bit..primer..paint..make sure it stays there and don't chip.

Re: (s0ulless)
i am so freaking against painting the vinyl interior but i saw a white CX that HAD blue interior and was painted black and it looked really really good and held up. i dont think you need to sand and primer, just paint it foo.
