Vibration While braking from high speeds
Ok, i finally fixed my loose steering problem, now it vibrates when i brake from 50+ mph.
the rotors and pads are less than 3 weeks old.
The tires/mounting/balancing are 3 days old.
The alignment hasn't been done in quite a few months, but could that actually make the car vibrate while only braking?
A friend says the drums in the rear might cause it. But considering they don't do much to stop the car, i doubt it. It's something up front. Any ideas?
AND DON'T SAY ROTORS

Re: Vibration While braking from high speeds (AmginE)
it could be a shitty rotor.
bottom line is that it 99% chance that it has to do with the braking. becuase if it were something else you would notice it with out brakeing.
IE tire out of balance you will notice that just at hight speeds alone, soo on and so on

i don't want it to be the rotors. But the more i sit here and think about it. That's probably all it could be. Or a caliper not compressing correctly.

barely.
But that can be counted as the steering problem covering the actual vibration.
Ie: I had barely any road response through the wheel it was so loose, so i wouldn't have felt the full extent of the vibration until now.

DId you do the brakes yourself or a shop? If you did them, unless you dont know what your doing, i wouldnt fret on assymbly and it just might be defective.
If a shop did it, they might have messed up, go back and deal with them.
Something might possibly be stuck within or the rong size pads or calipers or even rotors were used.

some cars will have wheel vibration when an outer tie rod or ball joint starts to go bad. did you check both front wheels for any endplay/bad joints/bad wheel bearings

Could be warped rotors, did you buy the cheap ones? I had the same problem when I bought some cheap rotors.....

Did them myself. I went by helms and a few how-to's on here. I doubt i did it wrong.

Well, i've had studs replaced on the front left hub three times.
The bearing/hub/spindle were all replaced the first time i had it done. Do you think since the last two times the hub was pressed out, the bearing went bad? The bearing probably has no more than 30k miles on it. There's no problems with the steering of the car other than when i brake.

Just above the cheapest at Oreilly. The RR/AC guys use them on their cars, so i assumed it was good enough for my car.
