Vibration in the Steering Wheel

For instance, when I'm on a bridge and I hit bumps where the concrete connects, my steering wheel vibrates more than it should I think. Any problems that could cause this?

if there is a problem with the shocks, a bump like that will cause too many compressions and rebounds. thats why the shock is there. to stop that. on the other hand, if the vibration is there only when on the gas, it could be a inner cv joint. unfortunately without a test drive, i can only speculate. good luck.

It's not the suspension. I replaced the suspension not too long ago with the Tein Type Basic Damper. It seems as if the steering column is loose maybe?

You mean vibration like it shakes left to right to left really quick? If so, whats you suspension and wheel/tire setup like?

Edit: It's pretty simple to bolt up all the rack and column bolts. Might want to just hop under the car and toque them all down again.

Tein Type Basic Damper
18" Rims
215/35/18 Tires

Probably seems to have begun recently tho.

How long have you been running 18's? The lack of sidewall on the tires could sure make bumps very harsh.

does it vibrate when you drive under high speeds like on a fwy?

if so, it most likely might be your alignment.

No, not at high speeds. It drives fine. It's when I'm going over bumps at high speeds basically.

I've had the rims on it a while and the suspension for about 4-5 months.

there is a adjustment bolt on top of your steering rack that takes a special tool to tighten but if you have small hands you can tighten it yourself. I'm willing to bet that may be your problem.
Basically all tht bolt does is keep thegear in the rack pressed up against the other gear so when that comes loose it usualloy gives you some play in the steering https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I have the same problem, like when I hit bumps at high speeds, I feel like I have no control of my steering, it may be because I have air rods, or it could be because I have 17's with 40 series tires. Dunno. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
