vibration noise under acceleration only above 5K rpm
I have a b16 in a 93 hatch. too many mods to list.
I get a virbating noise or groaning low pitched noise under acceleration but only above 5K rpms.
the noise can be heard from 5k to 7500 rpm.
Thought it was drive train but the noise doesnt get louder with speed.
also doesnt get louder with engine speed.
noise happens anytime veh is driven warm or cold.
noise only gets louder if accerating and hitting a bump.
checked exhaust shields they seem ok and not close to anything.
changed drivers side upper motor mount (saw some dry rotted rubber). mount didnt fix it.
trans mount and rear mount have prothane inserts in them.
sound more like metal than plastic.
veh has a stock exhaust w/ b&m short shifter. have not checked exhaust to shifter clearence.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED!!
THANKS

It can be 2 different things:
1.) The Cookie Monster has decided to make his new home in the car.
2.) Have you checked your suspension? Any modified suspension(torqued down correctly?)

replaced my drivers side upper mount with prothane poly inserts and so far noise is gone. the mount I tried in my last post must have had the same problem (was a mount from a totaled delsol). so far so good

pass axle is 3 months old and the drivers axle was the first thing I replaced
but as of right now since I change the drivers upper mount noise is gone.
I only have about 25 miles on it but it was very consistant when I had the noise.
so I think its fixed
