Default very loud ticking

ok so i have a 94 civic ex.
the motor is a mini me y7 block and z6 head.
the problem im having is at random times there is a very loud ticking sound coming from the head close to the timing belt area it dosent effect performance in any way but if i give it more gas it stops soon as i let off it comes back. Then acouple of days ago i was going down a really slanted driveway and it went away so i have no clue what it could be so could someone help me out.

i just went through the same problem. check to make sure your valve cover bolts are on all the way and not broken. if those are fine, its time to get a valve adjustment. and if in that case it still happens, it could be your oil pump not putting out what it is supposed to (worn out, etc) and oil just doesnt always get where it needs to be. also, a slightly clogged oil passage.

but check with the vc bolts first. if it is broke, they are like $7 each new at the stealership. dont forget if it is that, replace then vc gasket at the same time (dont skip out on the bolt grommets. they are a bitch to get on, but if they are originol, more likely than not they will leak)

i didnt want any used crap. fixed my problem for the most part, but my valves are kind of chattery. getting an adjustment in the next few days or so.

lemme know how it goes

Valve lash. Good luck with the heli-coils.

Me too, if not...it isn't particularly hard to do so it will be a little bit of time, not really any money spent involved so it's worth a try...a free fix is a good fix.

yes that is true my valves do need it though they are pretty noisy so it would be good either way to do it.
