Default very jerky

in my car, it seems to only happen after i shift, and its not from shifting too early or anything, it kind of feels like theres water in the gas. but when i shift the car kind of jerks, very noticeable. any thoughts? and on another note, my headlights brighten and dim, my grandpa siad he thinks it might be the alternator belt or something. thanks.

I don't know about the jerkiness but as for the headlights dimming and brightening my car did the same thing. It means either your battery isn't fully accepting a charge or your alternator is going. It isn't neccessary to replace until later when things like the radio keeps going on and off, the lights turn almost completely off, the speedometer jumps around, the tach goes crazy etc... Take your car to Autozone and get your battery tested and your alternator tested, that should tell you more.
