vehicle speed sensor
searched.. but couldnt find much info on the vss.. i recently broke mine.. and soon ran into a bunch of problems (besides the speedometer).. first my vtec doesnt hit.. second.. my idle is high.. 1200 rpms.. and lastly, after i drive the car hard.. my idle jumps from 1200 rpms to about 1800.. repeatedly.. can the vss really cause all these problems>?

i don't know if they can cause all of those, but they can cause a lot of those problems. try swapping out the VSS to see if that solves your problem.
