So i've been reading about the VSS and from what I am getting , it will not let Vtec engage, speedo doesn't work, cruise control, and the ecu will put the car into SAFE/LIMP mode.... Am i reading right about this ?

Also, my VSS will work intermittently but sense my clutch was replaced 2 days ago it will not work anymore and when it does work it is 12mph off of what the actually speed im going. I've tested it with some friends of mine.

Is this a wiring issue , my mechanic at the shop I go to and I found that on the female terminal connection of the sensor that the middle prong had been pushed back and he said that may be why I am having Intermittent readings with it.

I have a B20v w/ GSR head and tranny engine is obd2 I also have a jumper harness to run a P28 chipped ecu. So when i ask for the female terminal connection do i ask for a Acura GSR one or a B20 one im confused on this issue. Sorry for the long write up, just want to make sure that i give all the info i can so its easier for someone to help. Thank you!

I bought the car as is before all the problems ... would my engine wire harness be for the gsr or the b20 ? my guess would be for the b20 ? right ?

yeah man seems like romeo f say is right man vss just replaced it... i did it to mines n works sinces n/p....

try another vss or check for broken wire in the harness

Thanks for all your advice. I'm going to pick up a vss sensor / gear & shaft / and Female terminal connection for 23.00 $ ... I'll let you all know how it turns out.

One more question i just though of... Does the VSS send any information to the fuel pump as to how much fuel pressure to produce ? my car has a type of hick-up when accelerating around 4-5k but i can push past it . so its not like hitting a wall. my injectors seem good. all ignition was done, dizzy, rotor, cap, plugs and wires. as well as fuel filter. Could be oil ? it has 20w 50 , i did not put it in , was done right before i bought it. Thank you.
