Vanity Plates...yes or no?
Me and a friend always have this discussion. Vanity plates good or vanity plates bad? I think they add a personality onto a car. As long as the plate doesn't have the persons full name, I think they are okay. What do you all think and why?

Well, just ordered my vanity plate yesterday. Unfortunately the one I wanted was taken. But I made adjustments and got what I wanted

Yeah it is a waste of money as well as a good way to get yourself marked. this makes it easier for any hater to distinguish you car. besides how bad could the regular license plate be?

I think its kinda funny really. In the UK (my original home) you pay a damn premium to buy a personalized license plate, and of course they're not all available. Here's an example from http://www.regtransfers.co.uk ......
license plate "MG 1" costs 275,000 pounds (~$400,000)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes you wonder, eh?
Steve
EDIT - clarity

Wow. I have a Vanity Plate (IR LEET) ( and by the way, you wouldnt understand unless you're computer savvy ) and in Maine it cost $15 a year when you register. Seems like a good use of money for me

I was gonna get QWUO8Y- just to watch people try and make it out. But the majority is right here, it is a major waste of money and attracts unwanted attention.
