Hate to say it bro, but Emerika was willing to help. I'd send it to him. He's a good guy.
EDIT: Or spend the 50 bucks he was willing to do it for on a Helms and tools you need to do the install. It's really not that tough.

Read the FAQ thread. The first post from B18C5-EH2 has as much VAFC install info as you'll ever need.

i've never done a spring/retainer install
but I did a buncha cam stuff on my d15b7,
it is fairly easy, assuming you are mechanically inclined,
and you have proper directions and the willingness to follow them PROPERLY.
On my first install of a cam(first actual engine mod i'd ever installed too.. so it was a big leap 4 me) it took me forever to do,
because I tried following some POS instructions of a frickin website.
I didnt set everything to TDC before begining the installation, so it made pulling hte cam out kinda hard.. and I ended up flipping the dizzy over 180 while yanking the cam.
Before I figured out what was the problem(didnt think it was the dizzy cuz your not supposed to be able to reinstall everything if its flipped 180.. wut a load of hogwash) I ended up frying my dizzy(distributor) and waterpump..
not to mention the cam was WAY to agressive for my setup and my car was untuned and running richer than ******* bill gates.
thing sounded so cool though hehe
oh.. um.. i duno what the point to that rambling was.. sorry.. heh

that is way too expensive man. Seriously do it yourself man. Installing a zex cam in my friend's y8 was the first major engine mod I ever did. It was a biatch at first, but once you know what your doing it is so easy. Installing the zex cam in my car was a snap

well your gonna need some special tools to do the springs and retainers including an air compressor and that tool to fill your cylinders with air so that your valves don't drop. Otherwise you will need to take off the whole head. As far as the vafc it couldn't be that hard and changing the cam gear is pretty damn easy when you are changing the cam. You just pop it onto your new cam with a woodruf key.
