Valve tick when WARM?
Hey guys, I just recently picked up a 1999 civic lx saloon, with a d16y7? anyway when its cold, everything sounds good, but when it warms up it starts to make a ticking noise.. I had a mechanic take a look/hear and he said it needed a valve adjustment, But where im stumped is why when its warm it ticks, shouldnt it be the other way around...?
I just had a oil change, and it sounds the same..
also, it kinda virates alot.. dunno if thats normal.

Re: Valve tick when WARM?
Its fairly simple but very precise. If your not used to working with internal parts I would pay someone else to do it. A hair too tight and you could lose a valve. The reason it ticks when its warm is because when the motor gets hot the oil gets thinner. Normal but when its thick it hides some noises.
