Valve Seal Break-in
I'm about to fire up my engine again after replacing the valve seals and I'm wondering if there's a break-in procedure required, like for piston rings, or if they are pretty much good to go? I'm not going to go raped ape on them yet, but I don't want to drive it super easy if I don't have to. Thanks for the help.

Re: Valve Seal Break-in (Flatland2D)
dont think you can really break in the seals
i put new seals on my head 200miles.then i got the car dyno tuned and did 420hp. no sign of any oil burning yet

He also asked about piston rings.
Edit - Wasnt necessarily asking about piston rings, but he obviously thinks they are LIKE breaking in piston rings...i just figured that'd give him some insight.
Wow...its been a long night, and im tired.
Bed time.

Re: Valve Seal Break-in (1995Civic)
LOL, sorry for the confusion. I was asking if there was a break-in procedure for seals, because I know there is a process for rings (the reason why I was comparing the two). I didn't replace my rings though, so I'm just wondering if there's anything special I have to do with the seals.
