valve question
ok i am rebuilding my motor and i wanted to clean every thing up. i noticed that all my exaust valves are rough and the intake ones are smooth after i clean all the build up off them. but when i try to get it off the exaust ones they are still rough. what i was wondering is if the exaust valves are suppose to be rough or is there something wrong? could someone help me or get me a picture of what a oem exaust valve and intake valve look like when they are clean thanks

Re: valve question (skater5067)
Post pics of your valves...or do a google search for valves and pics.
If you're rebuilding the engine, why not just replace the valves if you have any doubt at all?

yea mine were the same way. its just built up and burnt carbon. just take a wire brush or wire wheel on a drill and clean them up.

Re: valve question (doublejz)
i did all that and they still dident come smooth i was wondering if it would be alright and just used a fine grit sandpaper on a dremmel on the face of the valves to take it off would that be alright?

Don't use sandpaper nor dremel, you'll end up f**king a valve or something.
I used Scotch Brite on my valves and ports, worked very well.
