what do i need to do to take off the valve cover of my engine? other than unscrewing it is there anything else i need to do? i know, supernoob. btw, i did search, couldn't find what i was looking for.

just make sure your motor is cooled down before you do it. and when you put the valve cover back on make sure you use the honda bond sealant around the corners of the gasket.

yeah basically. just be sure not to lose the nuts. those things are like $5 each from the stealership.

i think it's a dumb question ... but i still wanna ask .... the numbering .... do you have to go in that order? or u just randomly threw 1-6 around?

Be careful tightening those bolts down. They SNAP easily, the rubber bushings make a false sense of them being still loose and then they snap. I snapped my bottom corner one a week ago and had to go buy another one at the dealership for 6.75 lol.

well accroding to my haynes manual it says it to do it in that order. but sometimes i'm too lazy and i just take them off any order.

And yes, be careful when you retighten those bolts. The manual says to tighten to only 86 in-lbs.

Your always gonna wanna go in the star patern when tightening down anything just to be safe of warping.

Yes, I also did the same thing, It REALLY sucks...

unscrew, hit with rubber mallet on all sides then take it off slowly so you wont mess up the gasket

Or, if its something like this, or head studs for example, you always want to do from the inside out and in a criss-cross pattern. These things do warp even if you dont think it will with only 7 ft/lbs, the Helms is always right and you're better safe than sorry

definitely watch out tightening them down. I had to put two heli-coils in my head b/c i broke off two of them..
