Strip yours with aircraft remover and then go to Advance or pep boys and get krinkle paint red and that is very very close to what the type r red is.

there still might be a layer of grese and grime and filth on the cover that you might want to strip off any way

Ok so say i was to buy a valve cover and do this myself, what should i do. Should i just sand the cover down to clean the grime off and then just spray the rinckle red on and let dry, that easy? Also this rinckle red paint is bumpy right, it had a rough texture and not some flat red color, this is the one suggested at autozone that im asking about.

Buy some VHT wrinkle paint in the color of your choice.
Get a new valve cover gasket from Honda for ~$10.
Get some liquid gasket from your local auto parts store.
Remove your valve cover.
Clean the valve cover very well with degreaser.
Apply the paint following the instructions on the can.
Clean the area where the valve cover gasket will sit.
Put the liquid gasket on the corners of where the gasket will sit, let it sit for a couple minutes. (I can clarify if needed)
Put the new gasket in the valve cover and put the valve cover back on.
Tighten the valve cover bolts to 7lb/ft.
Admire your Type Arrrr valve cover.
