valve clearance issues
Hey Guys I have a 1st geb b16 in my ej. I put forged pistons with a 10:5 compression ratio,
type r oil/waterpump, and gsr cams. I keep adjusting the valve clearance but cant get rid of this ticking/knocking sound coming from the head. I adjusted the intake to .006" and the
exhaust to .008". They are both on the tight side but there is stil a knocking noise. I was wonderinf if these are the right specs, or should they tightened to the gsr specs due to the cams. any info would be great. thanks guys!

I believe gsr specs are the same. Usually the car runs better with clearances on the loose side. How loud is the ticking? Check your LMAs Did you adjust them with engine fully cold.

Just push on them with your fingers....they should compress smoothly and spring right back. If not, they will produce a tick simlar in pitch to the injector click.....
