Default Valve Adjustment? Tick Tick Tick!

Ok so i've noticed this ticking sound for the past month and it seems to have goten worse. Sorta sounds like it's comeing from the header. Do you think i need to get a valve adjustment? As far as i know its never had one. I plan on doing it myself, but if it's only like $50 i might have someone else do it. I don't really have time right now to do myself. Does anyone know what it would cost?

u can get a valve adjustment at the honda dealer for about $120 or at speedy for about $90..i would say most mechanics can do it for u for alot less than the dealer..and the ticking..it may be ur pipes cooling..even at a stop they will tick from the cooling of the metal

It isn't hard at all. There is a screw that you loosen or tighten. It is held in place by a nut. So you kinda need three hands, one to hold the nut, one to screw, (which forum am I on)and a hand for the feeler gauge. Snap-on make a tool just for these type of valve adjustments. I think that you should do it yourself. It might be cheaper to have the mech do it for you now, but then you pay him again next time.
Good luck.

i pay around 40 buck for mine usually the price will go up if they have to replace any gaskets on your valve cover....if you have a feeler gauge you can do it yourself. the valve spacing specs are under your hood on the sticker...

to have it done its 40-60$ at a mechanics shop
a tool will run you about the same price
but you only have to pay for the tool once
